Overview
PawMe (“PawMe,” “we,” “us”) is a dog care management app for iOS, Android, and the web. We designed it around a simple principle: the records, walks, and memories you keep for your dog belong to you and your household, and should never leak to anyone else. This policy describes the information we handle and how you stay in control of it.
Information we collect
Account & sign-in
You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive a stable account identifier and, where you allow it, your name and email. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled by Apple and Google.
Your dog’s care data
- Profiles you create for your dogs (name, breed, key dates).
- Care you log — walks, food, water, medications, play, and notes.
- Health records — vaccines, medications, vet visits, and weight.
- Photos, documents, and memories you add.
Optional health & location data
On a phone, with your explicit permission, PawMe can record a walk using your device’s GPS and step sensors, and (where you enable it) read activity from Apple Health or Health Connect. The app works fully without these permissions. Health and location data are covered in more detail in our Health Data Policy.
Technical data
We process the limited technical data needed to operate the service securely (for example, basic request information). We do not run advertising trackers.
How we use your information
- To provide the app — store and show your dog’s records and memories.
- To send the reminders and summaries you ask for.
- To keep the service secure and reliable.
- To respond to you when you contact us.
What we never do
How your data is stored and protected
Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database (Supabase). Every record is isolated per household at the database level using Row-Level Security, so one account can never read another’s data. Files (photos and documents) live in private storage reachable only through short-lived, permission-checked links. Data is encrypted in transit.
Service providers
To run PawMe we rely on a small set of trusted providers that process data only on our behalf, under contract, and only to operate the app — never for their own purposes:
- Supabase — secure database and file storage.
- Apple & Google — sign-in.
- Mapbox — maps for walk routes (in the app).
These are the infrastructure PawMe runs on, not third parties we sell or disclose your data to for their own use.
Your choices and rights
- Access and edit your dog’s records at any time in the app.
- Export a record (for example, a vet summary PDF) when you choose to.
- Delete a dog’s profile and its associated data.
- Delete your account — this erases your data and stored files.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, deletion, and portability). We honor these — contact us using the details below.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a dog or your account, the associated records and files are removed. Operational items like time-limited notifications are cleaned up automatically.
Children’s privacy
PawMe is intended for adults (18+). It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes here and update the date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app before they take effect.
